How does Latisse work? Studies have shown that the active ingredient in Latisse, Bimatoprost 0.03% can stimulate your eyelashes to grow. Latisse is known to affect the growth phase of the eyelash cycle. Firstly, it increases the length of the growth phase and secondly, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. The result is a set of thicker, longer, fuller eyelashes, naturally! How long does it take to see results? With Latisse, you can have thicker, fuller and longer eyelashes in as little as 1 month. It has been documented that most patients observed a significant difference in 8 weeks, and dramatic effects in 12-16 weeks. The results are expected to last more than a year, based on experience and feedback from our clients. Is Latisse suitable for everyone? Latisse can be used by almost anyone, males and females who aspire to have longer thicker eyelashes. You should not use Latisse if you are known to • be allergic to any one of its ingredients • have eye pressure problems (raised intraocular pressure) • have risk factors for glaucoma, including a family history of glaucoma Speak to our doctor if in doubt Is Latisse safe? The safety and effectiveness of Latisse was shown in a clinical trial. It has received US FDA approval for use on eyelashes. Speak to our doctor about more information on this. What are the possible side effects with Latisse? The most common side effects are eye itching or redness (4% occurrence) Other less common side effects may include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness or redness of the eyelids. How is Latisse used? Each Latisse package comes with a unique single-use sterile brush that is designed to deliver the correct amount of Latisse to the eyelashes. Our staff will gladly demonstrate how to use Latisse effectively.
What if Latisse gets into my eyes? While the effects of Latisse are meant to be applied on the base of the eyelashes, Latisse will not be harmful, even if some of it gets into your eyes. Is Latisse different from over-the-counter products that have the same claims? Only Latisse contains the correct dose of the active ingredient to enhance eyelash growth. Latisse is only available in registered medical clinics. Beware of imitations, or false claims. What has been a very popular treatment in the USA, this FDA approved treatment, available only in selected medical clinics is now available at Freia. With very little risks of side effects, you can confidently apply Latisse nightly on the base of your eyelashes. Before long, you will notice how your eyelashes have become longer. Tips for success: Think routine Try to incorporate Latisse into your nightly routine - for example, after you've washed your face and brushed your teeth. Keep it handy Store the Latisse bottle near your other skin care products or toothbrush, so you won't forget to apply it each night. Be patient and consistent Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% takes time to work. Only use it once a night, and don't overuse it, as this may increase the chance of experiencing eye redness or itchiness. Start fresh If your eye makeup remover leaves an oily residue on your eyelids, wash off any excess oils with soap and water to ensure a clean surface before you apply Latisse. Follow the rules Always use the sterile, disposable, FDA-approved applicator provided in the kit. Don't try to apply Latisse with a cotton swab. The Latisse applicator is specially designed to hold a drop and release a drop. Don't play catch up If you miss a dose one night, don't apply more just to catch up. Simply apply Latisse the next evening and stay on schedule. Beware of germs Don't let the tip of the bottle or applicator contact your fingers or any other unintended surface, in order to avoid contamination by common bacteria known to cause infections. Chart your progress When you start using Latisse solution, be sure to mark your calendar and take pictures throughout weeks (0, 4, 8, 12, 16), so you can have your own "Before & After Gallery." Stay the course As we mentioned earlier, you do need to exercise patience with Latisse. If you're satisfied with your results by week 8, stick with the treatment. You'll see the full effect of Latisse come into view at week 16. After that, you should talk to our doctor about ongoing use. For more tips and advice, be sure to talk to our doctor. Can it be used on my hair or eyebrows? Latisse is currently only cleared for use on eyelashes. There are promising reports that Latisse works even on the eyebrows and scalp and more trials are lined up for that purpose. We will keep our clients updated as the use of Latisse expands.
