Is BBL hair reduction painful?

BBL hair reduction treatment is not painful. A cooling gel is first applied on the treatment area. What you will experience next is described as a very tolerable and light snap of a rubber band against cooled skin. Based on your response, the doctor can adjust the energy levels accordingly.

What can I expect after each treatment session?

You will notice reduced hair growth even after the first session. However, as hairs grow in crops and at different cycles, it will take repeat sessions to effectively bring the hair growth under control.

What are the popular areas that are treated by BBL hair removal?

Are the results permanent?

BBL hair reduction will permanently reduce the hair load and density upon completion of the treatment programme. However, fine regrowth may occur after a few years. At that point, our patients may choose to return for a maintenance session just to keep things under control.

How long does each session take?

It takes about 10 minutes for both underarms. For larger areas like the lower legs, it may take up to 30 minutes.

Can I return to my regular activities right away?

There is no down time associated with BBL hair reduction. There may be slight redness post-treatment, but this will subside within hours. However, we do advise patients to use good quality sunscreens and avoid excessive sun exposure to the treated area for 3 days post-treatment.

Are there any risks for Sciton BBL hair reduction treatment?

BBL hair reduction is considered a non-invasive, low risk treatment. Very occasionally, some patients may experience a reaction to the treatment. These include a 1% chance of temporary darkening or lightening of the skin tone. Our experience and extreme care in performing this treatment helps to reduce chances of unwanted outcomes.

I have a darker Fitzpatrick skin type 5. Am I suitable for this treatment?
